Of course BKK is the best place. If you want to be swarmed by the Army, the riots by the Red Shirts and the Anti Red Shirt protesters.

As well as every country has now issued a security warning not to go to BKK in its current state.

Phuket, so much nicer and no one is rioting here!

I would disagree, unless you like hundreds of thousands of people jammed into one small area. Most people don't mind a visit to Bangkok, but to seriously consider a holiday, I think you are better off choosing a place that is exciting to explore.

This could be anywhere like, Koh Lanta or Koh Phuket, or many of the islands off of these. If you would like more information on Phuket, then I have been writing some articles about Phuket.

Although not finished as of yet, it is not a website advertising or trying to sell you stuff.

Bangkok’s culture is amazing and attractive especially with its famed architecture. The Land of Smiles has many pleasant and attractive sights. My family and I got to see all the landmarks and included shopping on our trip. We stayed at a conveniently placed location in a guest-friendly Bangkok hotel.

It was a device orchestrated by the Generals to get rid of the Government without causing a bloody revolution. All back to to "normal" now. However, be aware that the Government is largely just a puppet anyway; the Prime Minister is usually a General, or a relation from a Military family in the pocket of the Generals, and that the place isn't actally a Democracy at all. The Military have been effectively in control since 1932 when they murdered the then King. In Siam (still the correct name) they still haven't finished World War Two. ALL the border areas are under Military control; special forces are frequently deployed there - or inside adjoining territories - and the four Southernmost States are in turmoil due to Moslem extremists. Bombs occasionally go off in Bangkok - but there's cretins operating in most Countries nowadays - so no real need for concern. However, never loose sight of the fact that the entire territory is run by Military, corrupt Police, and gangsters. In my family, we have a General, a Police Chief, and a gang leader - all brothers!
Siam is safe enough if you avoid the areas indicated and steer away from the cretin areas such as Patpong & Soi Cowboy etc. For the mentally normal, Krungthep is probably safer than many Western cities. The brain dead that go for the beaches or the running brothel of Pattaya, never realise what is going on around them! Don't drive there; it's cheaper to hire a driver with a car, if you've got your head screwed on the right way round, although the locals will take you for a diierent sort of ride if you have the "wrong" accent. Avoid doing anything illegal, otherwise you'll need a heap of dosh to keep out of prison.

They have certainly all dispersed now. Everything should be all right. Next time you plan on visiting the Sanam Luang area, it is advised to monitor the news first.
Apart from that the only affect they had on tourists was when they were all on Ratchadamnoern Road the other day for a few hours causing some traffic disturbances.
